Fracture test

Dear expert.

I have to performe fracture test to qualify welders. The coupon is made by pipe 4"  to plate position 5F. My question is how to execute it?

Hi,

Please refer below image from ASME sec IX (QW462.4(c)) for fillet weld performance qualification.

As per drawing, cut the coupon and apply force.

  

  

Note: Also, you should carry out Macro test in order to qualify the welder (QW452.5).
