Pitting corrosion acceptance criteria for steel plates

Dear,

Is there any allowances or acceptance criteria for pitting corrosion in offshore structural plate material (S355 JR)…

And also how to measure the depth of pitting size…

Kindly advise…

to Materials & Welding

1) check wirh welding guage

2) UT thickness machine

3) or if more deep, u can use piano wire technich and scale( non coventional but practicle method)
