Dear Expert

 We are facing crack problem in HAZ during GTAW welding of

Aluminium AA5052 vs. AA 5052, Temper –H34

Shielding gas- Argon

10mm thickness plate,

Single V butt joint

Filler Material AA4043-H18.

Edge Preparation: Included Angle 70 degree, root gap. 1.2 mm.

 We are making WPS/PQR as per the AWS D1.2. Please advice welding parameter need to be change to get Bend and tensile result as per requirement for procedure Qualification.

Cleaning before welding to avoid al oxide formation use AC current.

Dear All,

Carbon steel(SA516-70) to Aluminum welding is possible to weld together. If possible then which filler used for GTAW process.

Not possible. You have to use an intermediate component manufactured with explosion bonding
