Welder qualification query

Dear all,

I want to weld 2inch weldolet to 24inch pipe, my doubt can i use welder qualified as per section 9 with diameter range 73mm and above to weld 2 inch weldolet whose OD is above 73mm.
Second doubt how much weld i need to deposit on weldolet to run pipe connection if code of construction is asme B31.3, i think it should be minimum thickness of branch or run pipe thickness and then make fillet. Or is it needed to deposit weld upto bevel end then a fillet.

You have to qualify welder in 2 inch to weld that weldolet on 24 inch pipe....

2" Weldolet od will be more than 73mm and section 9 talks about OD.
My interpretation says we can weld , is there any code case or interpretation file number regarding same, if any of you arr aware please share.

If I understand correctly your input the welder was qualified with a pipe with OD=73 mm. In that case his is qualified for OD 25 mm and over.

Please note that base metal thickness is not an essential variable for welders qualification. Only the thickness of deposited metal.

Please check also the other essential variables before you proceed
