Welder performance for Temper Bead Welding

Dear Experts,

Could you please clarify the mentioned subject, is it necessary to qualify the welders to perform the Temper Bead weld. If yes, what is the procedure/method for qualifying the welders.

Hi Karthikeyan,

 

The default rule is ASME Sec-IX, QW-290. If  the applications are for pipelines, then you need to follow the guidelines of Piping Research Council(PRCI) also as additional resource.

 

Where this technique would be applied, and what’s the grade of steel in question?

               We have problem in aluminum welding Material is 5083 and filler matel is ER5556, Gas purity gas 99.999%

welding qualification getting major porosity. Please kindly give any precaution steps.
