Confusion over Welder Qualification

Dear Experts,

Kindly clear my confusion for PQR qualification

The welder is qualified for 10mmthk Goove weld in plate. Is he eligible for welding dia 42mm sch 40 pipe for welding fillet joint. 

Kindly acknowledge the same.

Your  query  starts with PQR but it is ref to WPQ range. 

As I  understand correctly , you are referring  to Qualification range of WPQ  .So sending related  ASME SEC IX  Table for your ref.

 .Accor , production welds can be welded

Dear Prashant,

As per QW 461.9 table, Plate-Groove weld qualification, the welder can weld 42mm pipe fillet weld.  For position of Fillet weld refer your WPQ and Table QW 461.9.

Ensure WPS and PQR available for particular material grade.
