Can anyone suggest the electrode EQUIVALENT FOR E8018-B3L  for welding SA 387 GR 22 CL2 PLATE SEAM BUTT WELDS WITH IMAPCT REQUIREMENT  55 JOULES AT -30deg.C.

Since, in the market, only E9018-B3L is available.

Can we use E9018-B3L instead of  E8018-B3L

Thanks & Regards

Hello Raju,

What are your service conditions (temperature, corrosion etc.) and what are the material (or weld) requirements as per your specification?

Yes you can use E 9018-B3, we have also used the same and the results are good. Make sure you do the proper preheating, maintain the interpass and also there is a posheat requirement for the P22 materials.
