Dear Vimal,

What is your design requirement in B31. 3? Chapter v or chapter IX?

Dear Vimal,
No, it does not say that one has to re-qualify the welders.
It says that :

""b) Test weldments shall be made using the same specification
and type or grade of base metal(s), and the same
specification and classification of filler metal(s) as will be
used in production welding.""

It means if the welders have been qualified as per above conditions, no need to re-qualify the welders.

Hope, your query has been answered.
Thanks,
Best Regards,

Dear Vimal,
The K series falls under chapter IX which demands performance qualification by mechanical testing which includes impact testing as well. Also ech product form as used shall be qualified seperstely. Kindly go through chapter IX and interpretations for better understanding.
