HIC Resistant Material - EIL Specification

Dear Experts,

Need your expert advise on below :

Background :
Equipment data sheet specifies HIC resistant material to be used.
And applicable EIL specification 6-79-0013 R1 (Material requirements for Carbon steel components used in Sour service for petroleum refinery environment)
I understand these specification calls for HIC testing of Plates & Rolled products(pipes fittings made from plates) only.

Question :
Does EIL Specification 6-79-0013 R1 calls for HIC testing of components other than plates & rolled products such as Forgings, pipes, fittings, fasteners as well?

Kindly confirm with clarifications for better understanding.

Hi,

I am not sure about EIL requirements.

Normally Forgings and Seamless pipes do not require HIC testing requirement as the these production methods eliminate many discontinuities(impurities) which cause HIC.

Only plates are to be tested for HIC testing to Client Specifications or to ISO TM0284. Pipes rolled from plates also require this testing.
