Hi experts
Happy new year to all of u.
I have a query.
When we use A333 Gr.6 pipe as a Swage Transition Nozzle , specified in BOM in Fabrication Dwg,  which is a noncoded item and exempted from impact test,
When i reviewed any requirements in ASME Sec II part A, A333 Gr.6,
I could not find any special requirements like Heat treatment after forming to transition, any special product marking, any special testing etc.
If you have any info related to my above queries then please do share.
Regards
Sarav.

Since the material description indicates as a ltcs material ,hence it is must to have a impact test in low temperature ( Considered under extreme condition of the particular location) ,moreover if it is for low temperature application then heat treatment will be required also ,as per good engineering practice and asme 31.3 ....others please correct me if you find it incorrect please.

Regards
Pratish

Hi,

A333 gr 6 pipes mandatorily need to be heat treated (normalizing or tempering. Etc) as per code, in order to achieve required impact properties. These grades are impact tested at -45 deg. You can refer to sec. II part A, for more details.
