It is specified in specification.
Generally for SS , it is less than 50ppm

Hello,

Here are our procedure, you may refer to it.

Test medium

Test medium shall be cleaned or potable fresh water or rust inhibitor. Note that chloride content in water shall be less than 250 ppm for carbon steel components and chloride content in water shall be less than 50 ppm for stainless steel components.

Yes, code may not required, but project specification may require in the test package. I hope that everyone check in the specification also.

Dear 

PH & PPM 

1 . C. S - less then 250ppm or specified by client spec. 
2. S.S- 50 ppm Or specified by client spec. 
3. PH - 07 natural water 6.5-7.5 best

Lesser PH value more acidic below 06 Or equivalent 06 for stainless steels, it's better to refer client specifications for PH value
