Hardness without pwht

Can we accept hardness without pwht.(talking about weld portion only)I.e joints .
Second question is in any metal pipe manufacturing system ,they are checking the hardness test without pwht of a pipe or joints.

Yes hardness can be measured without PWHT on weld metal, its a Client/Specification/Service requirement.
Based on Client/PMS requirement the hardness shall be measured during the process of pipe manufacturing. Usually, after normalising, the hardness will be measured at pipe mill.

Dear sir,
We can do hardness prior to pwht. Please go ahead and do it without any hesitation and cross check it with given table.
Also in some cases we can exempt pwht if hardness value finds within range. For this please refer ASME code.

Dear Sombir ;

Most ITP (inspection test pack ) amends Hardness testing after PWHT .

Keep in mind that witnessed hardness test will require presence of RT report and PWHT report and thermal graph.

purpose of hardness testing is to verify that stress relief was properly done and base metal is in the right eutectic phase .

Hai,

Normal carbon steel after PWHT accepted in 31.3 P1 to P5 but alloy maternal not accepted in same standard.
