Dear Experts,

I seek your guidance on the following query:

When welding SS 312 TP 321H material using the GTAW process with ERNiCrMo-3 filler metal, what are the major safety precautions required to control the cooling rate to avoide sensitization?

Your valuable insights will be highly appreciated.

Best regards,,

ER347 (a Titanium stabilised) filler metal that mitigates sensitization and suitable for we;ding 321H
due to its similar composition and properties.
Minimise the heat input to reduce the time spent in the sensitization temp. range (427 to 871 deg.C).
Avoid preheating. Titanium  forms titanium carbides and preserves chromium levels and maintains
corrosion resistance  at high temperatures.

why do u want to use inconel 625, instead u can use 321 itself , since u r using TIG there will not be much issues with 321 filler wire.

You are correct Mr. Gnana Panditahn. Titanium was mentioned by oversight. 321H has Titanium of max. 0.70%
Thank you.
Sridhar.
