Dear All,

Need your assistance,

I have qualified WPQR for fillet weld (Plate to Plate) as per EN 15614-1.

Can i use this PQR to weld pipe (15 mm OD) to plate for fillet weld (thickness range is within specified limit)?

Please guide me on this.

Thank you

Vijay Katkar

In EN 15614-1 the diameter is a qualification parameter (contrary to ASME IX).
Please check 8.3.2.3 of EN 15614-1

If you have to weld a fillet weld arround pipe or bar material than you need to have a qualification in which also the diameter is qualified as well.

Thank you for your valuable reply.

But I didn't understand why do we need separate Qualification for Pipe fillet joint.

What will be the consideration behind this?

Need your guidance.

Best regards

because of the diameter.
If your diameter would be larger than 500 mm or when the diameter is > 150 mm and the position are PA or PC position then you would not need a new qualification
