Engineering and non engineering materials

Could you guys please explain the difference between engineering and non engineering materials and their applications.

Really I have not understood , what answer is expected ,yet :
The engineering materials  are 
Ferrous Metals  
Non-ferrous Metals ( copper, nickel, Chrom , Titanium) 
Composite Materials produced by Powder metallurgy 
Ceramics and Diamond
Plastics (thermoplastics, thermosetting ) 

etc . 

Can you please specify in detail .

Engineering Materials:Manufacturing material (All ferrous and non ferrous & porous and non-porous Materials) 
Non-Engineering Materials:From nature ( wood,sand.)😀😀
