Dear friends,
         Can anyone tell us formula for tank shell plate life calculation.
Shell plate thickness initial 20mm
shell plate thickness after 15 years 19mm. Corrosion allowance 1.5 mm.

Shell has some imp aspects & components like Design considerations & requirements, plate arrangements,  joints, compression at joint at she'll n roof, & at btm,  nozzles,  80+mm nozzles,  wldg of she'll btm, upper n lower she'lls. 

u may elaborate specific requirements

You need to know the corrosion rate of the stored fluid in the tank.
Some times the corrosion is linear in time, some times not.
Considering the corrosion rate observed during the last 15 years, you should monitor the thickness every 3 years
