Interpass Temperture - Reg

Dear Gents,

In ASME SEC IX, QW 406.3 States " An increase of more than 100°F (55°C) in

the maximum interpass temperature recorded on the
PQR. This variable does not apply for any of the following
conditions:
(a) WPS is qualified with a heat treatment above the
upper transformation temperature."

Please clarify why this variable is not applied to Upper Transformation Temperature Heat Treatment.
