Hi,
To close NCR,
1) you need to identify the true root cause for the Non-conformity(NC).
2) Then carry out the corrective action to clear the current NC and Implement proper preventive action to avoid the recurrence. This shall be as per the Change control system of your organization.
3) Along with the verifiable evidence of these activities you can close the current NC.

Days to Close
There is no such specific requirement unless otherwise mentioned in the NCR. You can take the required time with proper justification. But It is advisable to close ASAP.

Importance
Proper usage of CAPA is a method/tool to correct/minimize the deficiencies of your current process/system and supports the continuous improvement of the system.

Hi PKM,

Your questions are very innocent but answers cannot be given in one line.

There are certain steps to be followed to close the NCR as per defined procedure. No. of days for close-out and importance of the NCR depend on the criticality of the NC.

You require to hire a competent QA Engineer who will deal with the NCRs.

Alternatively, you may also hire a consultant to train your team for the same.

I can also help you if require. Please send me an email alongwith your contact details to rajn...@yahoo.com or call me on +919724200357.

Thanks,

NCR means work is not meeting required quality /specification . Target date is required to be set. NCR register can be updated after corrective and preventive action

Dear PKM
Set the closest targets for each NCR
Check the contractual and KPI requirements
NCR -Not complying to the project requirements
Best Regards
Sayeed

Set the closeout targets for each NCR as soon as you receive it. Assign responsibility to take corrective and preventive actions on ncr form. Update non conformance register with target dates, responsible person and updates like proposal status etc.

NCR means you have a huge issue with your quality management system...
And the fact that you are asking this question means that you will probably have a difficult time dealing with closing it...

NCR is a very bad thing for a company...
NCRs go up to the top management and they have the responsibility to follow and close it...
You have to identify why it has happened, then find those responsible for it and then fix the system (along with the issue which has raised the NCR)...

It's not just fixing the issue;
you have to fix the system;
and then, you must prove that you have fixed the system properly so it will never happen again...
It's a long process...

There is a lot more about NCR and it cannot be explained in just an email.
You need a good QA engineer (who has experience in the industry) to deal with these issues...

Good luck
