stainless steel flange face damage

Dear Experts


i am found in my site 4 inch stainless steel (SS) flange face damage ( serration ) almost 5mm. what the process to rectify that and acceptance criteria. can anybody tell me.

Rameez,

Look at ASME B16.5 flange face sections carefully.

Depth of allowable defects, especially axial ones are very small.

Normally you need to weld repair overlay and then re-mill to get the face acceptable.
