Please provide details of available Painting Guage to define individual paint layer DFT for multi layer paint system.

you mean by type of DFT gauge to be used for layers?

 I want indivisual reading of primer , intercoat & final reading of DFT for applied paint systems.

After final painting you can only measure the final paint DFT. 

If you needed DFT after primer and first coat then you should have checked earlier.

Dear All,

No, We can measure the DFT after completion of Final layer also.

In SSPC we have an Instument named TOOKE GAGE or PIG GAGE, it will measure the DFT in each layer, but its a Destructive method. 

You have to do the touch painting after the inspection.

Hi,

You cannot measure the DFT of each under coat layer once top coat is applied. 

Let us consider a surface is painted with three coat paint system, A-Primer, B-Mid-coat & C-Topcoat. So thickness can be measured as follows.

DFT of Coat 'A' - Can be directly measured once it is applied & dried.

DFT of coat 'B' - Actual DFT measured from the surface - DFT of Coat 'A'

DFT of coat 'C' - Actual DFT measured from the surface - (DFT of Coat 'A'+DFT of coat 'B')

Yes this is the only solution to measure the individual layer DFT. After completion of Final coat.

This one i had already suggested in 03 Feb 2016.
