Dear Lalit,

Based on client specification

Hardness tests on a production weld shall include a reading on the centre of the weld and the heat affected zones on both sides of the weld. The hardness test of the heart affected
zone shall be made at a point as near to the edge of the weld as practicable.

Each test area three impacts shall be carried out and the average of these shall be recorded. All results and averages shall be recorded on the Hardness Test InspectionReport.

Butt welds on pipes of nominal size upto and including DN100 (4") one set of
readings shall be taken on the 12 o' clock position or 6 o' clock position

Butt welds on pipes of nominal size from DN150 (6”) to DN300 (12”), two sets of
readings shall be taken 120° apart, with one set on the 12 o' clock position & o' clock
position

Branch connections and fillet welds on pipes of all diameters, two sets of
readings 180° apart shall be taken.

Note: location shall be approved by CONTRACTOR/COMPANY prior inspection

Best Regards
