Hi,Why do you intend to use a high temperature service alloy in a low temperature service ? Are you sure that the service temperature is -48 degree C for a boiler pressure part component !!!regards,LALUOn Sat, Mar 12, 2016 at 9:54 AM, Praphulla Phirke <praphu...@gmail.com> wrote:Dear All
Need your expert opinion on below query.
We are working on new project with Pressure Parts proposed to customer in ASME A335 P11 materials.
Since the ambient temperature is -48C, we need to perform the Impact Test for the same.
We think that the pipe material can be impact tested. Since this test is not a standard requirement for SA335 P11 pipes no guarantee is provided on the resulting minimum impact energy.
Any suggestions ????
Warm Regards
Praphulla
Dear Praphulla,
For -48 Deg C, qualification SA335 P11 grade pipe is not the ideal choice. Please see the attached data sheet of P11 steel for your discretion.
Thanks.
