Dear Sirs,
if we are qualifying a PQR with EN10025 S355JR to S355JR is this PQR qualifies to weld S355J2 to S355J2?

Dear Biju,

It's unlisted to unlisted material qualification, specific material grade.

Change in material grade requires new qualification as per AWS D1.1

Better do separate qualifications, cuz Impact tests (Temp) req are different.

Hi Baiju,

It depends on your operating conditions. If you don't require J2 impact conditions, meaning only strength is the design consideration, then you can use S355 JR instead of S355J2 (considering impact conditions do not apply).

However, as per the code, unassigned material requires a separate PQR.
