Hi Aby,
More enriched version of mixed gases, e.g. 90Ar+10 O2 or other Ar enriched blends may help. Look at this guide ,which has few good recommendations about shielding gases.
Thanks.

Dear all,--What shielding gas should be used for the pulsed GMAW welding of carbon steel? When trying with 80%Ar+20%CO2 mixture I am getting a lot of spatters. The welding used is Automatic welding with Robotic machine.Any recommendations???Regards,Aby

Hi Jose,
Please let me know the AWS classification of filler wire and brand used or please follow the manufacturer recommendation for choosing the shielding gas or refer the filler wire data sheet.

Dear Mr Pandithan,In the machine I have selected the pulse mode itself. (GMAW-P). The position I am using is IG(rotating ) . As I am using the synergy mode in the machine the current and voltage is getting selected automatically when I am giving the wire feed speed. I am using the wire feed speed of 9.5 m/min, the voltage coming is in range 25V -28V and current in range 215 to 230. How to ensure I am not using the short circuiting mode?? I am using this process for pipe welding which includes both high and low thickness.Regards,Aby

Hi Jose,
As per data sheet of ER70S-6, Bohler EMK 6, recommended composition of shielding gas is Ar + 15 to 25% of CO2.

Dear Pandithan,Here the wire I am using is of dia 1.2 mm. So is it possible to give the current & voltage of that range in the weld layers? The welding process I am following is Root & hotpass TIG and the balance MIG.
Regards,Aby
