Dear Basem,
First of all, bear in mind that there is a dimensional issue here and normally, this part shall be dimensionally rejected. But the client might decide to give you a chance which depends on the type of connection (moment or shear connection etc.). For instance, if it is only the flange which is short and the connection is a shear type, you have a better chance. Nevertheless, in these cases, you normally have to use a CJP weld with 100% UT or RT and meet the requirements for the weld spacing. In some cases, adding PWHT on this weld makes things look much better in your corrective action proposal.
All said, refer to your specification for steel structures and find all the clauses you need to meet for this job.
