minimum leak path

Dear Experts,

             Kindly please clarify what is minimum leak path dimension as per QW-193.1.3 and how to calculate, actually my design is groove + fillet weld seal welded as per UW-20

          Groove depth: 2.47mm

          Fillet size: 2.47mm

Dear,

Leak path dimension is not mentioned in ASME section IX.

As per ASME Section IX, QW-193.1.3 Acceptance Criteria — Macro- Examination.

Using a minimum of 10X magnification, the exposed cross sections of the weld shall confirm

(a) minimum leak path dimension required by the design

On polishing & etching the section, the minimum throat thickness or leak path of each weld shall not be less than 0.7t, where t is the nominal wall thickness of the tube.
