Dear All,

How can we do root NDT for low alloy (HS service) steel golden, while doing continuous preheat ( 300°C) and can you recommend suitable NDT methods.

Regards

Dear Mr. Kuppasamy,
At high temperatures, you can use UT (using specialized high temperature transducers and couplants
for internal defects), Eddy Current Test (for surface & subsurface cracks), RT, MPT (with specially
formulated high-temp inspection mediums for surface and subsurface) and PT ( high temp. penetrants are
available  for use at 300 deg. C) for surface detections.
The selection  of the NDT method depends on factors like material type, weld configuration, inspection
accessibility.

Sridhar.
