Gents,

during PQR for WPS of SS to DSS using filler Er Ni Cr MO-10, Corrosion test is failing. can i get any advise and suggestion on this.

Pl. furnish details as a minimum .
1)Which corrosion test ?
2)Welding process?
3)What brand of consumables ?
4)Heat input while welding?
5)Which DSS steel - 32205 ?
Pl. send in detail information then the correction/suggestion can be given

In our project Er2590 they are using for duplex

Keep other parameters and details aside, it is presumed that you would have performed ASTM G48 Method A. 

If your answer is Yes. Certainly, the ASTM G48 Method A will keep failing for SS#DSS combination. 

Please share other details as requested below.

1. What Group of SS and DSS?
2. Welding process? 
3. What method did you use for the Corrosion test?
4. Temperature: your client requirement for a test?
5. Heat input while welding, Interpass temperature?
6. What type of Argon is used for Purging Gas and shielding?
7. Branch of welding consumable. 
8. What type of chemical is used for pickling and passivation? 

Please reference API 582 for correctly chosen welding consumable as per your base metal and design as per project specification requirement.
