Dear Mr. Rathnakar,

As per Cl. No. 23.1 of SA 106 of ASME Sec. IIA Ed. 2013, on sizes smaller than NPS 8", only longitudinal tensile test shall be used.

Thanks & regards,

C. R. GANDHI

Hi,

Up to 3" tensile test is carried out for longitudinal only bcz in trasvers , you can't make it straight due to heavy thickness sch-160. Also 4" sch-160- go for longitudinal tensile test.
