Joining/welding grade X65 with X60?

Greetings,

We have welded X60 crude oil pipeline, and we want to replace a small portion of the pipeline, can we use X65 as replacement?.
Because we have stock of X65.

High grade can cover below grade 
Not vice versa

Please get design/piping engineering concurrence and get it approval by the client before fitment.

The  API 5L pipeline is commonly used for crude oil application.
ASTM-A-106B is very close to that  .  
X indicates minimum yield strength . 
API 5L X65 pipe   is a high level grade pipe in API 5L  with minimum yield strength required in 65000 Ksi or 450 Mpa. 
You can replace but take a view of your designer .

Dear All
    Certainly you can weld the  different grade pipes use E6010 for root pass and E7010/E7018-1 for other passes.If the requirement of impact test better to use E7018-1.
