Brach Weld for Cement lined pipe

Dear Experts,

I want to tap 6" line from 10" header which is internally cement lined. Pipe configurations are

MOC                : A106 Gr.B
Service               : Sea Water
Pressure            :   5 kg/sq.cm

Please tell me if branch weld is possible..!! , what is the minimum size possible for branch line (for Branch weld).

Dear Mr.Krishna Kumar,

Branch weld is possible using suitable fittings like weldolet or T, provided you have access for applying the kniffing filler at the branch portion.
Branch pipe is possible until 4" size for cement lined, below which the piping shall be provided with suitable internal lining for protection of the piping.

Tap means you want to carryout the work without shut down the line. If the case is
this then you may carryout the Tap but how you will carry out the internal lining.
it is impossible to carry out Tapping internal lined pipe lines. You have to shut
down the line then carry out and apply internal coating then carry out holi day
test and resume service.

Dear Expert,
                     we have the above ground cement lined pipe 12" size for Sea water cooling system manufactured as per AWWA C205, (Temperature- 35c and pressure 1BAR)  the question is THE PIPE LINE IS LEAKGE FROM THE FLANGE WELD JOINT OR TO NEAR IT.the line has been installed since 1984, Please suggest the problem issue, and remedy action in term of repair and future plane.
