in Most of the cases, if the result shows marginal means  98% pass, check your luck my friend.

They will further verify and give the final result after 8 weeeks. Best if luck and i am sure you will pass.

Just to share my experience.  

I had given API 570 Exam through CBT on 6th July, 2017 observed the result as Marginal.

On August 2nd I had received the email that I passed the test with actual score of 92 against 91 cutoff score.

Ya I gave api 570 on July d same result I got. After  a month I recived a mail that I got 89 marks out of 91 set for passing mark.

There is 90 % of chances getting passing, The Marginal Passing means you were not reach individual subject of 70 % but aggregate 70 % near about that.

I wrote my API 570 exam on Feb 2018. I got marginal result on that date but i received my result on April 19/2018 with negative result fail. I got 90 out of 125 with 72% but fail.

This window they have considered 91 marks with 73 percent  as pass percentage. So in your case you are very unlucky that you failed only by one mark... My friend got 91 marks and he passed the exam...

Dear sir.

Preliminary pass means you confirm pass. Passing required is 70%.

Marginal pass means you suppose to received 70% in each subject while in some subject you less acquired but aggregate chance in 70%.

At marginal pass, you will having approximately 80% chances of passing.

Be calm sure will receive +ve reply after 4 weeks from date of CBT.

ATTENTION Announcing some changes to API 510, 570 and 653 examination administrations Beginning with the December 5, 2012 exam administration API will make two minor changes to the API 510, 570 and 653 examination processes. API believes that these changes will help to maintain the value of our credentials by improving the exam experience for all candidates and keeping exam content current, relevant and free of errors. 1. The number of questions by which test takers will be graded or scored. The API 510, 570 and 653 tests in the past have always contained 150 questions on which candidates were scored. These exams will now contain 125 scored questions, plus 25 questions that will not be scored (otherwise known as "pre-test" items). All exam grading will still be based on the number of correct responses. The minimum number of correct responses required to achieve a passing score will be established based on the 125 scored items only. API will continue to utilize the statistical method of equating in order to maintain the same level of difficulty of the exams. The equating process will take into account that 25 of the test questions are now “pre-test” questions and establish an accordingly reduced passing grade for all exams. The pre-test questions will appear on all tests for all candidates; so each test taker receives the same, fair experience. Test takers will not know which test questions are scored and which are not

The purpose of scaled scores is to report scores for all candidates on a consistent scale by taking the raw score and calculating it to a common scale. This method ensures that scores can be fairly and accurately compared across various versions of exam forms or tests taken on different dates.  In other words, the total number of correctly answered questions that correspond to the passing scaled score may be slightly different per form. Following the credentialing industry’s best practices, API also utilizes multiple forms during the same exam period. To achieve comparability within these forms, API has implemented scaled score reporting for all exams.

In order to ensure uniformity, the same scale is used across all ICP exams. Prometric uses a scale from 200 to 500 to accommodate all test lengths for ICP certifications. The passing scaled score for all exams is 400, which takes into account previous exam data of raw scores and percentage of correct answers. Scaled scores on different forms will be equivalent and interchangeable. This means that if two candidates taking different forms receive the same scaled score, the two candidates have achieved the same level of performance on the exam. Score reports emailed to candidates will not include number of questions answered correctly but their converted scaled score.

I got final official score today, it says 414 and pass. no percentage of modules, just color graphs. So, passing score was 400 and I got 414, how many questions is equivalent to this score?
