repair qualification range

Hi,

Would it be possible to share your thoughts about the qualification range of repair welding procedure on thickness as per ASME IX?

Base metal is super duplex:

Original weld procedure:  18 mm pipe w/t -qualification range is 18 to 1.5 T as per client spec

Repair procedure: 18 mm pipe. Full thk repair. Reference in the spec is ASME IX. There is no info in ASME IX for repair welding qualification range.

Would you share your thoughts please?

Hi,

Refer QW 202.3, in ASME Sec IX. I think this clears your problem.

Info on repairs is included in the relevant construction Code Sections ( I, VIII-1, VIII-2)
