    I searched in ASME IX but i didnt find.

2. I have WPS for CS (SA106) material, can i use this WPS for welding Mild steel (EN 10025 S275JR)

    looking for reply from u guys......

3. WPS shall be for only the material which they are going to weld and not to all equivalent material as mentioned in the Material specification description of WPS.

     is it correct????

Dear sir ;

1 - The EN S275 JR is an europeen normalisation ( S mean structure , 275 is the yield strength , JR means 27 J at 20 °c for impact test) , the equivalent in ASME is the SA 572 ( p number 1).

2- they have the same P number but  A106 is a  pipe ( usually welded GTAW / SMAW) and the EN S275 JR is a plate usually welded only SMAW ( with backing ).
I don't think that you can use the same WPS.

3- no it's not correct

Dear Naveen,

                  As per Mr. Salhi said ,its correct that material equivalent.And Also i give the additional information

This is common carbon steel plate in S235JR, S235J0 and S235J2 steel grade. Heat analysis shall be used to determine the required chemical composition for carbon. Manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, and copper. Tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation shall be evaluated using tension test.

275 indication of the min specified yield strength for thickness of under 16mm.
JR symbol 20 temperature impact test.
J0 symbol 0 temperature impact test

J2 symbol -20 temperature impact test

S275JR, S275J0 and S275j2 steel is a structural steel grade which be used in riveted, bolted, or welded construction of bridges and buildings.

2.You cant use same WPS,because this material plate type.You have WPS for pipe material.You can follow that WPS format as per your site using standard

Dear Mr. Alagarsamy & Mr Salhi ;

Please correct me if i am wrong , but as per QW-211, a WPS qualified by pipe covers plate and vice versa.

Please see the extracted ASME Sec IX article in the attachment.

Dear Salhi,
EN S275JR material not listed in QW 422
So, it was called as unassigned P.no

You have the WPS for A106Gr.B - you cant use for EN SA275JR material

You have to make a new PQR using the material EN S275JR

Pls refer to the para QW-424

Best Regards,
Chandra
