Dear Experts ,

When i review the ISO 15609 Part-1 for WPS preparation , it does not mention about Procedure Qualification method and testing.
It says only the format to be used for WPS and the necessary datas to be filled in.
So, my query is whether we need to fill the format and send to client for approval, before we start welding.
Is there any other part in ISO 15609 mention about Procedure Qualification and mechanical testing.
The material for the project is JIS SS 304L and the product is venturi tube, only GTAW process we plan to use.
Await for your reply.
Regards

Dear Saravanan

Please have a look on the scope of the standard. This is mentioned there that, "This standard is part of series of standards....for more information see annex A of ISO 15607-2003.

Annex A of ISO 15607 has a table which define the relationship between all part of those standards.
Also Annexes B & C will be helpful.

Regards

To the coordinator of MW,
Of late I find that when a question is asked for expert opinion, some individuals are writing with names addressed to the individual who made the question. This is improper. This is a group forum and whatever is written is for all those who contribute and for benefit of all. Some are even asking for a reply etc etc...............
All questions must be generally worded so that any one in the group who wish to answer can do. All answers shd preferably be backed by std references appropriately or by personal experience.
Questions shd not be to resolve personal problems but to enhance and share knowledge.

Some of my thoughts to improve the groups contribution. I know some of my friends have talked to me and even stopped contributing bcs some where we are not keeping self discipline among ourselves.

We fully agree with the concerns raised here, thank you very much for your feedback sir!
in fact there are numerous posts in the forum to request members how to ask and answer a question, but we never tried to stress this issue, how to answer a question.

use meaningful headers/subject line
be precise and informative
If you don't know for sure, say so! A wrong but authoritative-sounding answer is worse than none at all
If you did research to answer the question, demonstrate your skills rather than writing as though you pulled the answer out of your pocket. Answering one good question is like feeding a hungry person one meal, but teaching them research skills by example is teaching them to grow food for a lifetime.

More suggestions are welcome.
