i have doubt..if the procedure qualification is done under ASME SECTION ..  so can i do the welder qualification under AWS D1.1 ???????.

thanks buddy....one more doubt plz...here we r using plates ASTM A653 G90(GI SHEETS) 1.2mm,1.5mm,2mm,3mm etc...so on which thickness should i make the test coupn for welder qualification inorder to qualify for this thickness range?

AWS D1.1 does not cover anything less than 1.6 mm thick.

and my procedure is tested with RT...should i also test the welder qualification coupn with RT??....any way my product is just a structural sheet work...doesnt comes under pressurized vessels or boilers,,plz help
