Hydrotest as per ASME B 31.3

Dear Experts,

As per b 31.3 Joints can be painted before leak test. Is the leak test referred here as a hydrotest also? Please confirm.

(d) All joints may be primed and painted prior to leak

testing unless a sensitive leak test (para. 345.8) is

required.

Yes. Hydrotest is leak test..Other sensitive tests are bubble,sniffer...But in my view, hydrotest is leak test.

Pressure Test and Leak test are two different tests; used for different purposes.
