WPS compatibility for A36 and S275JR?

hello friends,

I have a WPS with ref code AWS D 1.1 for A36 can I use the same for welding S275JR as well? 

I would like to know if there is any code prohibition for this? Even though the materials are almost the same except for a higher yield strength for S275.

Hi,

  S275JR is unlisted material in AWS D1.1, so you have to make a new WPS.

If ur project is Aramco, no need new WPS, Aramco considered both grades are equalent, ref 12-SAmss-7
