crack repair

Dears,

I have gate valve size 42" class 600 material WCB A216 and its manufacture according to MSS SP-55 casting and produce according to API 6D, i want to repair body crack so, can i know the procedure and standards that i must be dependent on for welding repair?

Dear Dr.Rafid,

The sequence of operation as per below,

7.2 Welding Procedure and Welder/Welding Operator Qualifications

7.5 Repair 

Weld repair of castings shall be in accordance with the applicable material standard, including any PWHT, if applicable.  ( 42" 600# the thickness approximately 77 mm  may required PWHT depends on crack depth )

7.6 Repair of welds

8.4 NDE of Repairs

8.6 Visual Inspection of Castings

9  Pressure Testing

I have one question , is it normal that heat treatment not use when carbon 0.20%?
