Wat we have to look?
& In which spec we have to refer?

Hi
At the first,it is important that the mechanical properties of chosen
material be the same,
the yield point and the tensile point of A36 is the same for all
thicknesses, But there is a little difference about the material
(Specially sheet metal) that is categorized by EN 10025 like s235
becuase the yield point of the s235 that is similar to A36 (almost)
is going down when the thickness is going up but the issue that is
very important is the Design assumptions.
I can send you the summarized properties of the materials if you want
but the final decision must be taken by the designer and accorting to
design assumption.

Dear Srinivas,

Selection equivalent steel, you should mainly compare their chemical composition and mechnical property.

For checking A36,you can find specification ASTM A36/A36M.

A36 (Yield strength min.250Mpa,tensile strength at 400-550Mpa) is one most common carbon structural steel grade, the equivalent shall be EN 10025-2 S235JR,not S275JR,s275jr steel owned a higher tensile strength and yield strength than ASTM A36.

Else,Jis g3101 SS400 steel,DIN 17100 St37-2,GB /T700 Q235B steel and ASTM A283 Grade C are also similar with ASTM A36 steel.

Regards.
