AWS welding engineer exam

Hello,

In the syllabus for AWS CWEng exam, two surfacing process are mentioned as SW, THSP. Anyone have idea what it is?

THSP - a generic term (See AWS A3.0) encompassing all thermal spray processes

SW - per AWS 3.0 is the acronym for "arc stud welding". If specifically used in a surfacing question may refer to surface welding as opposed to thermal spray, i.e. conventional welding processes such as SAW.

 Thermal Spraying (THSP) is the process of spraying molten metal (alloy or pure)onto a surface to form a coating layer over in it.
