Hello expert ,
We are having 10% RT, pipe size is 16inch, please suggest should I select one complete joint or one segment of all the joints. Please provide the codal reference if any ?

Dear Akash,
You need to select 10% of complete joint RT in total number of joints. i.e 1 joint per 10 joints.

Normal practice, If you have more than one welder, then 10% of joints you should select from the number of welds did by that welder, as that you can cover 10% RT for that line class and also for the welders. By this you can come to know the integrity of weld and also the welder performance.

Hi. Greetings
you should take full weld , not a segment to check the soundness of weld.
As far as code is concerned, code don't says about it  ;  it is depend upon the service of the line  and project Specification, which you need to comply.

Dear
The random selection of radiography shall be equally distributed over all welders and all type of welds, which includes welding procedure, pipe size, thickness,
welding position, etc. Progressive sample examination for piping system or pipeline based on joint not segment

Totally agree with Mr. Balajirajan's reply.
10% of each welder and total 10% of all the welds. If you have some welds at shop and some at field than choose field joints for radiography test.

Thanks & Regards
