1) Steel chimney. 

2) Silo 

3) Tank

4) coal Hopper

Dear Mr.Prasad,

 

I have checked the ASME Sec I & IX. i couldn't find the NDT requirements for the following structure (Chimney, Silo, Tank (Water & Oil). So Can you please share your experience regarding NDT requirements for the following structure (Chimney, Silo, Tank (Water & Oil).

Please let me know if any requirements in ASME Sec.VIII & AWS in this regard.

Dear ganeshan,

First of all, I want make clear that,

ASME sec Viii for pressure vessel code.
Asme sec ix for welding and brazing related. (Means it is reference code).
And aws d1.1 for structural steel.

Now,
1) Silo and chimney will come into structural part, so pls refer awsD1.1 for any welding and Ndt requirements.

2) Tanks for oil and water services, will comes under API 650.

Pls refer these respective code for Ndt requirements. Also requesting to refer the client specification, for any Ndt requirements.

Pls revert if any query.
