Manikandan,

1)Qualify PQR as per ASME SEC IX  . Additionally  consider and comply to  (API RP 934 C) with  BM as    SA 387 GR.11 CL.2 with butt joint /PWHT
2)Qualify PQR as per ASME SEC IX  . Additionally  consider and comply to  (API RP 934 C) with  BM as    SA 387 GR.11 CL.2 with  WOL of TYP 347  /PWHT
For WOL follow process which you want to use FCAW/GMAW/SMAW

These two WPS s shall satisfy  your production Welding as mentioned  in above  query

Thanks and regards

It seems to be a plate material and do you have access to both sides of the joint. If so strip back 5 - 10 mm of clad inner side and weld the LAS using LAS WPS/PQR and do clad restoration using weld overlay PQR.

Please read through this RP, 934C. Guidelines are very clear you need to refer  all clauses of  7.2, 6.0, 7.0  and other additional clauses as applicable for qualification of the PQR.

Thanks.

what type of Joint is it.

1. Pressure vessel circum seam. seems unlikely due to huge thickness variation
2. Any Internal(like Ring) welding to the Clad.
3. Any External attachment to vessel.

Thanks & Regards

1)Pl. qualify PQR as per ASME SEC IX and considering  (API RP 934 C) using base metals  SA 387 GR.11 CL.2 butt  joint /PWHT - SMAW + SAW
Use EB2R type consumables with Controlled Trace Elements  in Weld filler metals/  deposited welds
2)Pl. qualify PQR as per ASME SEC IX and considering  (API RP 934 C) using base metals  SA 387 GR.11 CL.2   and WOL OF TYP 347  with PWHT
WOL process shall be SMAW/FCAW/GMAW what you intend to do during Production Welding .
This shall satisfy your above mentioned requirement  as mentioned above  query

Thanks
