It would the vertical weld thickness,or the depth of the groove being welded.
In this case, 40mm.

What is the nominal thickness (for using in ucs-56) when two parts connected together are the same as in the following figure? Please answer with its standard reference.

your case, it's 40mm.

however, pl note your WPS shall cove both thickness ranges i.e 62mm & 40mm.
