cook county mn - 8 second delay until 911 call connected

911 Note: Please be aware that when a 911 call is placed within Cook
County there is at least an 8 second delay before the call is
connected. If you accidentally dial 911, do not hang up until the
dispatcher tells you that it is ok to disconnect. It is much easier to
verify an accidental dial while you are still on the line, then to
have the dispatcher attempt call backs or have to send a deputy to
check your well being if you do not answer.
