Canada's National Alert System Test May Be Received Near Border Today
Throughout the day today, (Wednesday, May 7, 2025) Canada’s National
Public Alerting System will be tested. It is likely some cell phones
in the United States along the Canadian border will receive the test.
The message will identify that the test is from “[Province name] Alert
Ready System”. Canadian radio, TV and cable will also broadcast a test
message.
Canada’s test will not affect the ability of alerts to be sent or
received through IPAWS.
