and the rest of europe is pretty high also - 16% increase

so - way too many people are dying and no one knows why - sorta - ish

not really sure if these numbers are above baseline or above excess levels

remember - the total numbers of monthly deaths vary throughout the
year - winter months show higher numbers of deaths than non winter
months typically - so winter months typically have an "excess" of
deaths vs summer months

I am not sure if the baseline number of deaths is up or the number of
excess deaths is up - I think that Europe map showed increases in
"excess deaths" vs 2016 to 2019 - therefore they are saying - ' we
always expect winter death rates to be higher - but now these winter
increases are higher than ever'

but he also mentions 'heat waves' - so maybe this 16% increase is due
to the heat waves
