just thinking out loud

lets say boston got nuked - not a little nuke - a big nuke

1. out of the blue - a big flash and explosion - a big mushroom cloud
- right over downtown

2. barely anyone would be left alive downtown - windows would be
broken everywhere within maybe 20 miles - huge fires would burn -
injured people would be everywhere - buildings and bridges would be
collapsed

3. people in the outer suburbs would survive and start to make phone
calls - if any of the calls got thru - then the rest of the country
would quickly find out what happened - if the calls dont get thru -
then probably some farmer in Holden Mass would call 911 and ask why he
saw a big flash towards Boston - Holden 911 would try to contact State
Police barracks or HQ - there might not be any answer - maybe Holden
911 would try to contact someone to the west - maybe not

4. sooner or later - the message would get to the White House that
Boston had been nuked - maybe even the Pentagon would know via a
satellite alert or a call from a military base in the area - maybe not
- maybe ALL comms would be down between New England and the rest of
the world

5. Maybe some very brave public safety units would start to head
towards Boston - but they dont have any radiation protection equipment
- the only people who have radiation protection equipment might be
some of the military units - so all rescue efforts would have to be
handled by the military - except for any survivors who can self
evacuate to outlying areas

6. but the bottom line is that Boston is a complete write off -
nothing can be done to rescue anyone in the downtown area - very
little can be done to fight any fires in the suburbs or to make any
rescues

7. FEMA has 29 USAR teams across the country staffed by local rescue
personnel - they can respond to earthquakes and floods - but they
might not have any radiation protection equipment either - perhaps
they believe that their standard turnout gear and SCBA and some duct
tape will keep them safe - maybe it will - maybe it wont

8. perhaps any nuke bomb recovery plans should focus on taking care of
any survivors who can self evacuate from Boston - using decon
equipment and chlorella - you didnt know that chlorella can save
radiation sickness victims? really ? - check this out -
