NYC hydrants range from 40 psi to 100 psi

fdny has some 'high pressure engines' and '3rd stage engines' - high
pressure engines have a special high pressure elbow and high pressure
fittings - they can safely pump up to 600 psi - 3rd stage engines can
pump up to 700 psi

squads just have 1,000 gpm pumps

apparently all other engines have 2000 gpm pumps that can pump at 600
psi - but they dont have the fittings or hose to handle the extra
pressure
